  1. Windows will find your TMP files, click the Date Modified button at the top of the Search Results pane. You might have to scroll to the right to see this button.
  1. Look for a TMP file created around the time that you lost your PowerPoint file. Note the folder it’s in.
  1. Now Open PowerPoint, and then click Open on the File menu.
  1. Click the arrow next to the Files of Type box at the bottom of that dialog box, and then click All Files.
  1. Navigate to the folder where the TMP file is located.
  1. Click the TMP file, and then click Open.
If you are able to successfully locate the .TMP file then you can surely recover your corrupted Powerpoint presentation. But if these methods don’t work then you have to try third party PowerPoint repair software which you can find easily on internet to repair corrupt presentation within a minute.

How to solve powerpoint error “PowerPoint cannot open the type of file represented by .ppt”


MS PowerPoint is very effective tool to create powerful presentation. But it can get corrupt like other MS office applications. When you try to open a ppt or pptx files you may get error “PowerPoint cannot open the type of file represented by .ppt” in this case PowerPoint does not allow to access your file. In this post I will explain reason of this type of error and tips to overcome from this error.

Cause of the Error : there are mainly two reasons behind this error both are listed below.

  1. If PowerPoint file is password protected and created in PowerPoint 2002 (xp) or letter version and you are trying to open it in earlier version. Because earlier version cannot open password protected files that is why producing such type of errors.
  2. PowerPoint file corruption can be the other reason of the above error.

Solution : There are several possible solutions of above problem is available.

  1. If you are owner of the file then remove password of that file then try to open it.
  2. If you do not know owner of that file then download earlier version of PowerPoint and open file with it.
  3. If file is corrupt and you have a backup of this file then restore backup and use it.

If Do not have a Backup :

If you don't have a backup and cannot apply any of above written methods then you can try these methods but first create copy of original file and apply these methods on copy of the file.

  1. Try to open PowerPoint file in to word, that will recovers at least some part of your data.
  2. Open file in to Read-only mode then save it at other location.
  3. Open blank presentation and use template of damaged file. That might help cut down on reformatting.
  4. Try to insert slides individually if you are not able to insert the whole thing.

Why the Word Document Crashes When I Click into the Table


MS word is very useful application which allows you to insert pictures, tables and drawing in the documents. After saving all changes generated by open and repair utility click on Table
  1. Go to Table menu > Properties
  2. Now select None in Text Wrapping.
  3. Now Click OK.

How To Solve MS Word Error "This Document May Be Corrupt"

Earlier version of MS word have some weak security features, due to weak security MS word documents easily get corrupt. Corrupt MS word file give several types of error when you try to open it or while doing some operation on that file. One such type of error is This document may be corrupt. To preserve the contents: Choose Select All from the Edit menu, then choose Copy from the Edit menu. Create a new document, then choose Paste from the Edit menu. It will appears when you try to open MS word document in word 2000. Here I am going to explain how you can overcome from above written error by applying manual method.



Cause of the Error: A build-uplist templates in a documents is the main cause of the above error.Now what is list templates? A list template works as container fora ll customized numbering scheme. You can easily check whether this error is due to excessive list template or not by applying following method.

  1. When this error pop up the go to Tools > Macro > Visual Basic Editor and start it.
  2. Click View > Immediate Windows, in Visual Basic Editor.
  3. In Immediate windows type following command and press Enter.

?activedocument.listtemplates.count

If you get number 1,500 or more then file have excessive list template problem.

If number is less then 1,500 then error is due to other reason,you need an advance word repair method to resolve it.

Solution: Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release 1/1a(SR-1/SR-1a) is required to resolve this error. You can get service from Microsoft store. After installing Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release 1 (SR-1) you need to make changes in in windows registry.

Note: Create backup of windows registry before making changes.

  1. Start windows go to Start > Run.
  2. In Run Box Type Regedit and click OK.
  3. Now you need to select following windows registry key :

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Word\Options

  1. Go to Edit menu click New > Dword Value and add following registry value:

Value Name: LTOverflowRecovery
Value: 1

  1. Now click Exit.

Try to open word file after applying all these steps, hopefully you are able to access your file without any error. But if problem still persist that means your word file actually got damaged and you need to take help of some third party tools like word repair software.
